Our Primary 3 Science program features engaging tutorials that include interactive activities and hands-on experiments, allowing your child to explore how science influences our everyday lives. This approach not only lays a strong foundation in essential science concepts but also nurtures their critical thinking abilities. Students will also acquire essential skills such as classifying based on traits, comparing to find similarities and differences, and analysing questions to identify the topic, concept, and command words needed to grasp what is being asked. These abilities will help them analyse data shown in tables and diagrams, interpret experimental setups and their purposes, and respond to questions using appropriate keywords and scientific terminology. As your child progresses to Primary 4, the curriculum shifts focus from memorization to practical application, immersing them in real-world situations that enhance their grasp of scientific principles. Students will learn methods to systematically tackle unconventional and challenging questions, crafting relevant and coherent answers to open-ended inquiries. They will interpret experimental data to deduce relationships between variables, draw conclusions, and explain their findings using the right keywords. In Primary 5, we build upon the knowledge and skills gained in the earlier years, encouraging your child to connect their learning to real-life scenarios. Students will focus on designing fair experiments by controlling variables or following specific procedures. By understanding the role of a control setup, they will be able to create one for a given experiment. Our teacher will pose questions that encourage students to interpret data in various formats (like tables, graphs, charts, and diagrams) to infer relationships, draw conclusions, or explain findings on relevant topics. With our close guidance, students will adopt a systematic approach to question analysis, using appropriate scientific keywords and effective answering techniques for different open-ended questions, which will boost their confidence in handling unfamiliar application questions. Finally, our Primary 6 Science program offers a thorough review of previous topics, ensuring your child masters key concepts, applies their knowledge effectively, and develops the skills needed to excel in the PSLE Science exam. Students will learn how to analyse experimental setups to identify suitable hypotheses, understand the purpose of controlled variables, and enhance their grasp of experimental design. They will also develop a systematic approach to question analysis and refine their answering techniques to avoid common mistakes when addressing open-ended questions, further building their confidence in tackling new application challenges.
