Sec School A-Maths
Additional Mathematics involves advanced thinking and critical analysis to grasp the intricate formulas found in Algebra, Geometry, and Trigonometry, enabling students to tackle complex problems. Our Secondary 3 A.Maths program is designed to assist students in applying new, advanced mathematical concepts to difficult questions, helping them achieve mastery in the subject. Meanwhile, our Secondary 4 Additional Mathematics program is specifically crafted to address the challenging requirements of the Secondary 4 syllabus. We focus on enhancing students' comprehension of complex mathematical ideas and refining their problem-solving abilities, ensuring they feel confident in facing tough challenges and excelling academically. In Secondary 3, students will focus on enhancing their skills in handling symbolic representations of various functions, including quadratic, cubic, exponential, logarithmic, and trigonometric. They will learn to use identities and formulas to prove that two trigonometric expressions are the same. Furthermore, they will improve their capacity to visualize and represent curves and circles defined by these functions. Ultimately, students will gain analytical skills that allow them to make inferences, draw logical conclusions, and evaluate solutions in real-world scenarios. Transitioning to Secondary 4, students will become adept at identifying question types, recognising key markers, and applying effective strategies for answering them. They will also practice error analysis techniques, such as working backward and logically assessing their answers, which will enhance their metacognitive skills. By refining their analytical skills, students will be able to make inferences, draw logical conclusions, and evaluate solutions to real-life challenges.
